Zachary Wright is the founder of WrightSports4Kids and Head coach for all sessions. As an avid sports player, he began his sports career from age 5 playing soccer, basketball, baseball, karate, and running constantly. Zachary played basketball his freshman year at Clark University under coach Phillips before transferring to American University to run for Legendary Coach, Mathew Centrowitz on the Track and Field team. In his first year at American, he was named All-Patriot League First Team after winning the high jump at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships and was the first American Student-Athlete to win a field event at the Patriot League Championships. Post college, Zachary shared his wisdom and knowledge in the Track and Field community by coaching at Manhattanville College as the assistant coach for 2 years in addition to coaching Varsity high school track for the past 7 years and still continues today.
Zachary received his Bachelors degree from American University in Elementary Education, with a Minor in Art Education. Right out of college, he worked at The Greenwich Country Day School teaching 3rd grade for 2 years in addition to coaching both Varsity Basketball and Cross Country. Currently, Zachary teaches at Saint Ann's, a gifted theater and art School in Brooklyn, New York, as a K-12 Physical Education teacher. As a life long educator and sports enthusiast, he is pursuing two Masters degree in Physical Education and sports pedagogy, as well as a Masters in Educational Leadership. In addition, a professional in the P.E. community, Zachary has attended and presented the National P.E. and New York State P.E. conferences, constantly looking to improve his craft as well as share his ideas with his national colleagues.
Today, children are expected to cope with unprecedented pressure to achieve both on and off the sports field. WrightSports4Kids separates itself by placing a strong emphasis on FUN. Students will learn fundamental sports skills in a safe, controlled environment. At our program we believe that through high energy, developing life skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and communication we set up our students for success and pave the road for developing life long lovers of sports. To accomplish the goal of instilling these values into every student of ours, we hire top educators with extensive experience working with children and understanding how to cater to the needs of the individual.
